Welcome to Major Fixer — a newsletter about restoring my 126-year-old house and myself.

This is a place to write about the process of putting down roots in my new hometown of Portland, Oregon, as well as life through the eyes of a 39-year-old who’s falling in love with herself for the first time.

In a former life, I was a mom blogger and freelance journalist. You might recognize me from publications like Scary Mommy, Romper, and Cosmopolitan. Now, I mostly work behind the scenes in editing and content marketing.

Outside of this space, you’ll probably find me spending time with my cute family and three cats, lifting weights, reading romance novels (and everything else I can get my hands on), playing video games, and making any excuse to be outside enjoying this gorgeous state.
